  What may seem like a straightforward activation may not be so simple at all. As a professional artist, my goal is to always create the best experience possible for my clients. That often means troubleshooting on the fly.

For example, these hair clips.

I’ve engraved hundreds of items made with the same material in the past. What I hadn’t anticipated, is that every single color of clip varied in softness. This meant that some colors could be engraved as normal, while some required a lot less pressure. Since the guests were able to choose their preferred color, this meant I had to constantly change drill speeds, hand pressure, and even the angle I was holding the clip. Everything still needed to be completed to the same high standard, in the same amount of time, for the same amount of people, and be finished with a gold fill. All while continuing to interact with everyone that stopped by.

Nobody but me knew this was happening.
